Those of you who are interested in such things already know that
Oxford soundly thrashed Cambridge at this year's Annual Boat Race, despite having the slowest time since 1947. For those of you who weren't there, allow me to show you these snapshots of the race near the end, taken by me with my Nikon D60 Super-Duper Camera with SarcasmoLens and built-in Adobe Photoshop InstaEdit(TM):
Oxford leads Cambridge at Barnes Bridge, towards the end of the race. The length between the two teams here has been estimated by spectators as twice the width of the African continent.Oxford Rowers Close-up Picture:

Dammit. Next year, Oxford, next year...
*shakes fist*

ReplyDeleteSo... are you back now? Like, actually back?
ReplyDeleteWTF???
ReplyDelete"Hiatus" and then THIS?!
I went to watch a couple of years ago. Sadly Cambridge lost then too. Come on you useless bunch get your acts together. Maybe they need an angry rower?
ReplyDeleteNice to have you back (if you're actually back)
Great to see you again (and in typically angry mood). Hope it's for good.
ReplyDeleteWhat??? Yourself isn't IN the boat rowing towards victory representing Cambridge?! You are on the side clicking snapshots?!
ReplyDelete:-D
Nice choice on the Cambridge rowers' pic...
Good to have you back ;-)
you have a NIKON D60??!! no bloody way. and what's a SarcasmoLens? new range of Nikkor Zoom lenses? are they special edition? where did you get them? what's the focal range? what's the F stop on that thing? did you get a protective filter with all that gear????
ReplyDeletego back to work you bum.
nyu: Okay, either you're from New York University, or you're another fan of that weird anime series Elfen Lied. Either way, go study! =)
ReplyDeleteXavier: Gosh, you still check back here? Awww. Uhm no unfortunately, this is a one-off. But I'll be posting an explanation soon though. It's not by choice :(
Watch-That-Blood-Pressure Anonymous: Well I had to say something about the crushing defeat didn't I? And do the obligatory fist-shaking thing. But I'm going back to my books now, don't worry :)
Little Medic: Oi, you bum, we won last year and crushed them, remember? This year was an Olympic year, so our big guys were training for the big arena. Clear your calendar for next year, I'll see you there. You can buy me coffee when we win :)
Elaine: Aw shucks, thanks. Yeah the angry-ness was just building up, and had to come out somehow: Oxford just happened to be a very convenient scapegoat at the time :)
Ms-Ellisa: Who, ME? A...a ROWER?! *crosses himself* Heavens, never!I have a brain, you know. ;)
Camera-head Anonymous or Ambitious Nikon Employee: Hey run down to the kebab shop down the street and get me a burger?
ReplyDeleteHehe.
ReplyDeleteHope everything sorts self out...
Your back! :)
ReplyDeletethats why they lost. because YOU weren't on the team!;)

Thanks for the compliment as well, I'm really flattered! Oh, and Grim Fandango keeps crashing on my computer. I hate Vista.

ReplyDeleteHello Angry Medic. It's been a long time I visited your blog and since I heard from you on mine. I loved your post on the Oxford=Cambridge boat race. LOL...thank you.
ReplyDeleteHey, there was an Oxford/Cambridge boat race here in Portugal a while ago...I didn't get to see it because I live far away from the place where it happened but I read a newspaper telling how it went. Oxford also won...-_-
ReplyDeleteSorry.
